How we pick

A default is not a commandment.

We recommend Google Workspace when a one-person shop already lives in Gmail. We recommend Microsoft 365 or a short forwarding bridge when the job is Outlook, one-vendor GoDaddy mail, or a weekend gap.

Material connection. This page includes affiliate links to Google Workspace. If you buy through those links, we may earn a commission. It does not change the price you pay. We do not sell star ratings. Read the full disclosure.

The job we optimize for

A US local service business reachable this month. That means a domain the owner controls, a mailbox whose right-hand side matches that domain, and a test message that arrives on a phone. It does not mean a 40-seat admin project, a bake-off of every groupware suite, or a lecture on “best professional email 2026.”

Local trades do not fail because they picked the wrong spam filter. They fail because the public address is still a personal Gmail, the domain is a Facebook URL, or the project died in a DNS edit they did not understand.

Business Email exists so a Commission Junction reviewer — and a plumber with a Saturday — can see a dedicated property: real guides, named tradeoffs, and an FTC disclosure. It is independent. It is published by 4 Life Health Wealth LLC as part of Shopfront Stack. It is not Google’s marketing site in a different coat of paint.

What a “default” means here

A default is the path we tell a tired owner-operator to take unless they have a specific reason not to. For this site, that path is Google Workspace: one seat, custom-domain Gmail, Calendar, Drive, Meet.

Reasons: most of this audience already knows Gmail; Meet and Drive are how a trade actually sends a photo and a cert; you can keep the domain at a registrar you control (including GoDaddy) while mail lives at Google.

A default is allowed to be unfashionable. Workspace is not the only grown-up mail. It is the least new behavior for a shop that already lives in a Google account on a phone.

Evidence we use

Evidence we refuse

When the default loses

Microsoft 365 wins when the owner already lives in Outlook / Word / Excel, or wants mail next to a GoDaddy domain in one vendor login. Registrar forwarding wins for a weekend bridge — and loses as a permanent shopfront. If you already have a keeper Workspace or 365 tenant, keep it. We do not migrate people for sport.

Money: we intend to earn CJ commissions on Google Workspace (CJ 5230914). That is disclosed in the header, next to buttons, and on the disclosure page. Placeholder hops live at /go/workspace/ until live tracking URLs are pasted in.
